There’s been a bit happening in Echuca Moama since Riverboats 2019! This article provides some ideas of NEW things to experience during the Riverboats Music Festival Weekend – 18 – 20 February 2022.

 1. Pre-order a grazing box

There are fabulous new grazing box and hamper choices in Echuca Moama.  We highly recommend that you pre-order a grazing box for the Festival weekend, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the music.  Two local businesses that pivoted during COVID now offer the most delicious hampers – the Hungry Goat and Fuzion cafe.  You’ll find them in the Echuca CBD and can order online with a quick google or facebook search.  We know you will enjoy a platter from either of these local venues.

2.    Check out the new Echuca Moama Bridge

There’s been a major project underway since the last Riverboats Music Festival – the construction of a new bridge connecting Echuca to Moama.  The existing bridge was built 143 years ago, so it really was time for an upgrade!  We’ve enjoyed watching the project progress and now the amazing structure is almost finished.  It’s well worth taking a walk, ride or cycling tour to check it out!  You’ll find the bridge by walking/cycling alongside the Murray River from Riverboat Dock – downstream to the Victoria Park boat ramp.

 3. Book a Green Pedal e-bike Cycling Tour or hire a bike for a couple of hours of a day or two

You’ll see so much more of Echuca by joining a Green Pedal Scenic Cycling Tour.  This e-bike tour is 90 minutes and takes you through the Historic Port of Echuca, to Riverboat Dock, around the Scenic Trail and finishes at Aquatic Reserve just near the Riverboats entrance.  Tours are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Monday.   Book online ahead of your visit to maximise your enjoyment on the Festival weekend.

Alternatively, hire an e-bike or standard bike, and you’ll have the freedom to come and go from the Festival without a worry about parking.  And outside of the festival hours you can explore the fabulous tracks and trails in Echuca Moama. David provides a map and some great suggestions on bike rides to some of the most picturesque river views in our region.  Book online.

4. Flash Fairlaine

Flash Fairlaine was established in 2021 and is a unique and fun experience. There’s various tour options to enjoy.  One suggestion is to take a 20 minute tour of Echuca in style in one of the magnificently maintained classic 1959 Ford Fairlanes. You will turn heads as you tour the beautiful township in gleaming old world style. Find out more.

5.    OPA – Eat Like a Greek

This exciting new restaurant serves authentic and traditional Greek food and will delight Riverboat Festival guests.  Check out their mouth watering menu on their facebook page and book in lunch or dinner. OPA is on the corner High Street and Radcliffe Street, a very short walk from the Festival.  Find out more
