Terms and Conditions

Cycling is a recreational activity which can be dangerous and by agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, participants accept the risks inherent in cycling. Participants must abide by applicable road rules and regulations at all times while cycling.

All cycling participants must be able to ride a bicycle without training wheels, and must be familiar and competent with the use of handlebar brakes. Green Pedal reserves the right to refuse service without refund if any cycling participant is unable to demonstrate the ability to cycle proficiently.

All participants must be physically healthy to cycle. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the participant warrants that they have no medical or other condition which suggests that any participant should not participate. Green Pedal strongly recommends participants have full insurance covering any injury they might suffer, including medical and hospital treatment.

Green Pedal confirms that bikes are reviewed by a competent technician prior to each rental and that bikes are supplied to participants in properly operating status. Participants are responsible for any damage (other than ordinary wear and tear) to or loss of the bikes and equipment sustained during the hire period.

Participants should inspect the equipment provided at the start of the hire period, and should not cycle unless they are satisfied with the adequacy and condition of the equipment.

Green Pedal shall not be held liable for death, personal injury, loss or damage to personal effects to any participant, nor accept any responsibility for delays or changes to the period of hire due to inclement weather, industrial disputes, late arrival, Acts of God or other causes outside of its control.

Participants must notify Green Pedal immediately of any loss, damage or theft to the hired bicycles and equipment, however caused. Lost or stolen bikes and equipment will incur a full replacement cost, up to a maximum of $3,000 AUD per bike. Damaged goods (other than standard wear and tear) will incur either a replacement or repair cost, whichever is lower. A valid credit card is required for security purposes.

Cycling on river beaches is not permitted.  Damages and additional cleaning charges apply. Failure to return any rented property to Green Pedal classifies as lost or stolen and will incur a full replacement cost. Transporting of bikes on vehicles is not permitted.

Hired bikes must be returned within our opening hours, unless otherwise arranged. A late fee of $80 per bike may apply if the bike is returned outside these hours.

For 24 hour hire or longer, the hired bike must be stored inside overnight. If you cannot comply with this, the bike can be returned to Green Pedal within our opening hours, and picked up again the following day to complete your hire.

No drugs or alcohol – You agree that you must not be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol when HIRING our equipment.

Take care – You agree to use the equipment in a lawful, safe and proper manner at all times and understand that your behaviour whilst undertaking the use of the hired Equipment affects the risks that you may be exposed to.
